# Delete a project

Soft delete. The project moves to Recently Deleted (list it with deleted=true) together with every live issue in it that belongs to the project's OWN team - the cascade is bounded to that team because permission was checked against the project row, so it must not reach a row that check never covered. Deleting an already-deleted project is a 404. Nothing is erased until permanentlyDeleteProject is called or the 30-day retention window expires.
